Any attempt to take to federalize elections would be considered unconstitutional....states have control over how they are done says so in the constitution...and if SCROTUS allows it the we are no longer a Constitutional Republic.

169

u/mammoth_hockey_70 11h ago

I fear that is the plan

125

u/Basicly-Inevitable 11h ago

It's pretty obvious it's the plan. It's a coup.

71

u/AncientPCGuy 10h ago

And that is why, if we come out of this, every republican who participated must be prosecuted, banned from future positions in government and RICO all assets. Including members of SCOTUS who voted for this agenda.

38

u/Early_Guidance761 10h ago

No one will ever be prosecuted for any of this. You know this, I know this, they know this, everyone knows this.

If dems win, it’ll be “time to move forward.”

Welcome to the uniparty, party.

14

u/Ragnarsworld 9h ago

I've told people several times that when the Dems take over again do not be surprised if they don't immediately turn off everything that has happened under Trump.

4

u/Tight_Isopod6969 7h ago

One of the biggest messages i've taken from the Epstein and Panama files, is how fundamentally deep rooted corruption and misanthropy is by the ruling class of the world. Everybody is in on it. The Dems are really only marginally better because their approach is to just fuck us a bit slower, and also there seem to be a few more good eggs within their ranks. I will be voting Dem, and I do attend local meetings to push progressive policies and work towards rooting out corruption. But yes, there is something like a 50% overlap between establishment Dems and MAGA.

They need the legally mandated punishment for their treason. You don't put cancer in prison with the chance of getting out again.

3

u/Thedeadnite 4h ago

Death penalty for charges related to peadophillia which some groups are pushing for would be wonderful. Conspiracy to shield people from those acts could easily be wrapped up in that consequence too.

3

u/Extreme_Shoe4942 3h ago

The people who are pushing for the death penalty for pedophilia are doing it to label trans and homosexuals as committing sex crimes against children for existing.

Not exactly the people I want to be chummy with, especially since we have seen how little the Right cares for due process.

3

u/Thedeadnite 3h ago

Oh I didnt look into who was pushing that agenda.

The big IF, the only thing is they are become bolder ---b/c fear of prosecution or accountability is evaporating - for a reason.

3

u/fowlflamingo 9h ago

6 years too late on this one.

3

u/Ghaarff 5h ago

Every person who supported this needs to be prosecuted for treason.

Part of the reason white supremacy and Nazism is as popular as it is is because the Nazis were not punished harshly enough.

It is the plan.

And if they can't do that they will send ICE to "patrol" election locations for "illegal voting"

19

u/SuspendeesNutz 11h ago

Yep. You won't be arrested, but you'll be made to stand in a pen for a couple of hours while your credentials are "verified".

14

u/DarkPresage 10h ago

...Until the polls are closed.

5

u/janandgeorgeglass 8h ago

Remember in 2024 when Russia called in all those bomb threats to close polling locations? I wouldn’t be surprised if they pull shit like that as well.

u/elvenmal 10h ago

Didn’t they say like 10% of the voting population controlled who was elected to congress last election, and with the new gerrymandered maps, it will be more like 5%?

They don’t need troops at polling locations if you close most polling locations, cut out early or mail in voting, limit the number of voting booths, make people wait in line for hours, and shut the door before most people can vote.

I get it, the seriousness of this act makes it different, but the idea that the Constitution has anything to do with their decision making process at this point is absurd. What makes everyone think this is the line in the sand that they won’t dare cross.

The question isn’t one of constitutionality, it is far darker indeed.

21

u/MrSnarf26 11h ago

Right? At this point it should be obvious our administration would at least try it and dare anyone to stop them. They have not faced any consequences at all, why would they stop when it might mean less power after midterms?

8

u/Shroomtune 11h ago

There is also the point that they might view it as a means to survival. No rational American can overlook the need to make examples out of these morons. They might know that and all the desperate shenanigans will ensue.

Exactly

Trump and the Republicans just made state run media a reality in the US. Fox, CBS, CNN are all now owned by lunatic billionaire Trump/GOP loyalists.

This is beyond anything I have imagined.

6

u/nehlstm30 10h ago

CNN isn’t yet, stop Paramount from buying it!

5

And having elections split up by state is functionally much more secure. There’s no central database that can be hacked. None of the machines are even connected to the internet and should NOT be.

15

u/peskywombats 11h ago

Which is why they are demanding states' voter rolls.

6

u/Jcklvy 11h ago

Unfortunately, I don't think we can count on all the states to play fair.

3

u/25000miles 10h ago

It seems to me that there are only two important stages of elections in any country. And the second stage always follows from the first over time.

  1. When it is important that everyone votes.
  2. When it no longer matters who and how voted. Everything will be announced for you. America has already failed the first stage.

Ehhh

It’s more like the last, desperate attempt of a takeover.

Republicans know Trump is old and dying and no other member of the party commands the loyalty of support that he does.

Say the worst case scenario happens? Midterms are suspended. Then what?

Things just continue to get worse and worse, republican support erodes more and more. Eventually the dam will break.

Things may get worse before they get better, and as usual the working class will pay the price, but this is an acknowledgement of what we all knew, they are out of ideas and out energy. And that the Republican Party has no future.

It’s the last spasm of a soon to be rotting carcus.

2028 will be decided this November.

Go vote Americans

342

u/PatientHelicopter123 11h ago

In 2024 - 160 MM did not vote for him. He only got 1/3 of the electorate.

Trump J. D. Vance Republican 77,304,296 49.70%

Kamala D. Harris Tim Walz Democratic 75,019,682 48.23%

Jill E. Stein Rudolph T. Ware, III Green 881,909 0.57%

Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. Nicole Shanahan Independent 757,369 0.49%

Total voter turnout was approx. 60%

Per the census there were approx. 230 million eligible voters in the US in 2024

Anyone who sat out the last election (all 80 or so million) need to be shamed. Voting is the single MOST important constitutional requirement of being a US citizen. You all suck, you allowed this to happen. The other 33 million idiots who believe the orange dickhead are beyond reason and redemption.

101

u/theroadbeyond 10h ago

I personally feel like it wouldn't have mattered. I don't think he actually won i absolutely think they rigged this shit. They've admitted as much Elons kid kid has admitted as much.

61

u/LeAcoTaco 7h ago

It was found Elon committed voter fraud in georgia, his American PAC submitted pre-filled absentee ballot applications. Which is illegal to do unless you are an authorized relative of the individual.

So yeah, I highly doubt anything would have been different if the people who didnt vote that time had. It was definitely rigged.

33

u/Zestyclose_Bit_9459 6h ago edited 5h ago

THIS! Why are PACs even handling ANY absentee ballots at ANY POINT in the voting process??? This must change to where ballots are issued ONLY by each state's voter registrar office.

BTW: the Georgia Election Board (right-leaning) just slapped Musk's PAC on the wrists. For Elon, that solved absolutely nothing--he'll do it again if he gets back in Trump's graces (they're not good.)

15

u/People-Pollution5280 4h ago

PACs shouldn't exist to begin with

10

u/grat5989 2h ago

Neither should lobbying. Its oligarchy plain and simple. Corporations have personhood, so it may look slightly different on its face, but that's what it is. Well, an oligarchy turned kleptocracy now.

6

u/StPatrickStewart 4h ago

Because nobody is willing to stop them.

13

u/Complete-Tangelo1532 5h ago

Remember when Elon was calling the Pennsylvania election results as a Trump win roughly 4hrs before results were tallied and posted publicly?

Just make sure they register to vote now and offer them a ride to do so.

Then haul them to the polls on election day.

Heck, make it a group activity.

u/Punkwrestle 9h ago

→ More replies (1)

3

u/Worldview-at-home 8h ago

Some GOP states want to make this illegal- just like giving water to people in the line, etc. GOP is focused on making the voting lines as long as possible and screwing with people’s lives instead of making voting easier. They wanna make it tedious - knowing that many people just give up or won’t give up two hours standing in line to vote.

Americans who don’t vote get the government they deserve-but it unfortunately screwed the rest of us that care.

3

u/Mrs_SmithG2W 8h ago

And get your documents in order now! Birth certificates, valid drivers license, passports, marriage certificate etc. It’s important to have these in times like these regardless.

VOTE. UNITE. ACT.

💪🏼🌍🖖🏼

3

u/CSiGab 8h ago

Not just that, but registering now means you have to check your registration status often between now and November. It’s not unusual for states to purge voter rolls (people die, people move away from state etc.) but sometimes they can purge with a heavy hand and can “accidentally” purge people who aren’t supposed to be purged.

There’s no statistical way Trump won all swing states and counties. And won’t them all just above recount thresholds. It would be 1x10-26 for that to happen.

Elon and Putin helped him steal the 2024 election. He’s so but hurt about 2020 because he rigged it in his favor and lost due to mail in ballots for covid. He can’t let it go and believe he’s a loser. Significant chance he didn’t actually win 2016 either. He was ready to lose when he ended up winning and he was surprised.

You’ve describe the “strategy” of his entire cabinet. They know they will see prison if objective investigative law returns to the land. As such, they believe they don’t have anything to lose and will lie, steal, cheat, and murder to protect themselves. They care about themselves only, not even each other they just happen to be aligned at the moment, and there is no line too far nor atrocity too great for them to not cling to their power and self-preservation.

This is the next logical thing he could do, since he is clearly not going to be able to get something through Congress that has a veneer of legitimacy. If he issues an executive order and it's shot down by the courts, he'll have no choice but to go the national emergency/Martial law route. One way or the other, he's going to do something substantial to subvert the selections because he knows there's a good chance the Democrats will take control of Congress and he will be impeached and convicted.

it was never a foregone conclusion that he was going to run for president in 2024. he only ran because the law was catching up with him in 2022, and there was a chance, however distant, that he would face accountability and go to prison.

so he did what really any of us in that situation would do, and ran for president. now his only move, really, is to fix the midterms or else the path to prison suddenly reappears.

8

u/biscuitchan 10h ago

literally none of us would get into the situation of being an ancient conman pedophile acting as a puppet for multiple enemy states being blackmailed into running again and becoming ret*rd-hitler but yeah when you put it like that its a little more straightforward

The problem is that we are not South Korea. Their president attempted to take over and is now in prison. The majority of Congress and states would be thrilled if he tore up the constitution and took full control. All because of “pronouns”.

14

u/AntiqueCandidate7995 11h ago

It's not pronouns at all, that's a smoke screen. It's just feudalism and they imagine themselves to be the new landed nobility under the billionaire epstein class.

7

u/mammoth_hockey_70 10h ago

Yes I under stand that. Before this it was gay couples, before that it was interracial couples, before that it was black people - the fact that people are so gullible to this boogeyman crap is sad…

I grew up conservative, this is not anywhere close to normal. This is the least normal thing ever and sits a top a million (which is maybe only 3%) other things that have not been normal. This should not be happening at all or even floated. Whatever party you align to, this is wrong, this is not democracy in action.

3

u/Catskinson 10h ago

The electoral college, senate representation, gerrymandering, voter suppression, rampant corruption… much of what happens normally in this country is not democracy in action either. This regime is just comfortable shoving things as far as they think they can get away with. Well. Comfortable doing so from a housing unit on a military base, as the case may be.

If midterms are somehow prevented or controlled, this could very well end up being the start of a civil war. Tensions are at all time highs between political parties with lives being taken almost daily by government agents, and the only reason it hasn't completely gone up in flames is that people are waiting for midterms in hopes of impeachment and removal through the proper processes and I just don't see it happening.

This man has openly "joked" about being a fascist, a dictator, and "no more elections" and has already attempted to overthrow the government by attacking the capitol to prevent the transfer of power, we all saw it live on TV... Now he has even more unchecked power and even more radicalized followers. He will not go peacefully unless it's in his sleep.

13

u/noeyescanseeme 10h ago

We're already fighting a Civil War. The problem is that only one side is fighting

u/TopAd4861 10h ago

There won't be any civil war in America, that ship have sailed already. People are too busy fighting for their jobs, healthcare and cheeseburgers to actually make any opposition that matters. You would have thought it would have been disarray already otherwise.

America had its shot and they blew it. All that is left now is collapse.

I’m not concerned honestly. The SCOTUS sees just how demented he is. After the badmouthing he gave them this week, they now have NO question of just how crazy he’s become. He’s nuttier than squirrel shit. They believe if he’s crazy enough to try THIS, he’ll definitely draft an Executive Order to eliminate the Supreme Court and they know it.

This is what happens when you have a corrupted Supreme Court that allows for this BS. No one is above the law, but the Supreme Court said the president can do what he wants.

I’m not a lawyer, but this is all because of the corrupted SC

3

u/Ok_Researcher_9796 5h ago

He claims he never heard of it and isn't going to declare an emergency. I have absolutely no reason to believe anything he says.

3

u/DocM123 4h ago

Not that his supporters will care. But it’s literally in the constitution that the federal government cannot control the national elections. It’s up to each individual state. Everybody knows and I mean literally everybody knows he’s only doing this to steal the election. His selfish supporters care more about reelecting this old man and his enablers than the Constitution or their fellow American citizens.

3

u/dirtman81 4h ago

He's cheated in every election so far. He's lawless and immoral. He has no issue burning the world down to satisfy his narcissistic ego, so expect him to cheat, cheat and cheat. It's all he knows.

Yes, I know it’s unconstitutional but since when has that stopped him or his enablers? Five out nine on the SCOTUS are handpicked by Leonard Leo and are members of Opus Dei, an organization that seeks to install a theocracy.
