Discussion Bald Cap Is The Issue
It's not the belly, or the beard. The issue with Kratos is the distinct transition from his actual forehead to the bald cap. Ryan Hurst should go actually bald for this role.

Amazon did him dirty with this beard hope it’s not the final design

The original image just looks flat, after adjusting a couple settings I feel as though it looks slightly better. I'm not a professional of course, just took 5 seconds to adjust some sliders on my crappy phone and I think helps. I can't help the beard lol

Kratos in this trailer felt like he had so much more put into him, like some shots he looks a little off but it still feels genuine.

I finally finished God of War (2018) yesterday, and honestly, the whole experience story wise and gameplay-wise was absolutely perfect. For me, it was a flawless combo of storytelling, emotion, and pure gaming satisfaction.
The story was so good. At first, I thought this was just a soft reboot of the series, but I was completely wrong. It’s actually deeply connected to the original trilogy God of War 1, 2, and 3 with tons of references to the older games. That continuity really blew my mind.
Gameplay was top notch too. The semi open world design let me explore freely while still keeping the main story engaging. Everything blended together beautifully exploration, combat, puzzles, and narrative making it a complete and satisfying package.
Right now, I really want to play God of War III, but sadly, my “potato PC” can’t handle the emulator for it. Same goes for God of War: Ragnarok it’s just too heavy for my setup.
However, I’ve already started playing Ghost of Sparta (PSP version), and I’m enjoying it a lot. Someday, I hope I can experience God of War III and Ragnarok too, but for now, Gow 2018 will stay as one of my all-time favorite gaming experiences.

From Jason Schreier, via Bloomberg:
Bluepoint began working on a game in which the character Atreus would fall into Hades, according to people familiar with the project. A loose idea was for players to control different versions or aspects of Atreus as they battled through Greek hell, and to have some sort of cooperative gameplay and ongoing support, although much of the game’s design was in flux.

It is essentially a screen test and NOT the final product. If anyone remembers, the netflix Witcher show had the same reaction, where the first reveal of Geralt looked a bit goofy, but the final version looked good.
I see basically everyone here assuming this new image is a screenshot from a finished episode and that is not the case

Seriously it looked beautiful for a game released in 2007
I remember I bought the first god of war and being amazed by it
and then when we got the 2nd one I was amazed how they got so much stuff on the ps2 and made it look very beautiful
From the Colossus of Rhodes fight to the fight with Almighty Zeus they really pushed the PS2 far beyond its limits.
Santa Monica Studio truly mastered the hardware, giving us the masterpiece that remains one of the best games in the franchise.
Still love replaying it today.

I was really dissapointed with Surtr in Gow Ragnarok, he got like 10 minutes of screen time, but only like 3 minutes of seeing him actually destorying Asgard
His fiery form is ok he doesnt burn that much because of the Sinmaras heart i get it, but it was a weird decision to abandon the fiery giant route and instead go for this weird blue amalgamation (also i hate how he is called Ragnarok)
I would prefer if they kept the beard atleast

I only changed Kratos' pose and Atreus' bow. I didn't change Kratos' expression, but just the pose alone helps a lot to make him look more imposing and serious.

Posture and expression: Kratos needs to be standing up tall, dignified, squared shoulders, more serious facial expression, both need to look a bit more determined?
Fix the haircut on Atreyus, roll up his shooting sleeve to see his tattoos
Atreyus' actor needs time to age up a bit. Needs to be taller and slimmer (contributes to both the believability of his physical feats and simultaneously his health issues)

How hard do you think it was for Kratos to walk into this room and not immediately OBLITERATE beautifully handcrafted vase just perfectly set up for absolute evisceration?
What does Kratos canonically have against pottery?

Say what you want about how Kratos or Atreus looks like, what I really care about is Atreus' bow. It looks like a kid's toy in terms of size and appearance. It's tiny. I wouldn't care that much if it wasn't for the fact that his bow was supposed to be a few size too big for him because his mother wanted him to grow into it both literally and metaphorically. The ending with Freya affirming how he did grew into it was a good conclusion to his arc. But here, they gave him a tiny bow that he'll outgrow in a few years completely removing that arc. I just hope that this is more of a costume fitting than anything and they actually give him a more proper sized bow in the actual show.

I think they're doing this to avoid the usual Hollywood
"kid looks 30 by the time season 2 comes out"
Which is fine IF the show is good enough. Idk if they'll try to replicate the game or if it's supposed to cover a different story that takes place before the story of God of War 2018

I just started getting into god of war and it took me forever to fight these things and kill them. Anyone know a good start on how to beat them easily for when I inevitably fight them again?
