(Yes, that name is based off of the Magus Perfectus from BTD 6) Hi! This is a rod concept that I’ve used for beginners blade (an old post of mine) but I wanted to take it further as a new rod designed to be extremely customizable for the player, as well as making it a mid game rod (around the time you get Cerulean fang). Let’s start with obtainment
Obtainment:
Talk to an npc named “The swordsman” at the top of Statue of Sovereignty at level 375. From there, he will give you the Wooden Blade rod (100 lure speed, 150 luck, 0 control, 0 resilience, Inf max kg, 25% chance to slash for +3% progress) and tell you to “go train with it”.
This will give you a quest: Perfect catch 100 fish with Wooden Blade.
Afterwards, go back to the Swordsman and talk to him for a reward of 1 exalted relic, an aurora totem, and a Megalodon hunt totem. Next, he will tell you “The blade one wields matters not, as a fool could use the mightiest blade and lose to a master with a stick. Prove that you are not that fool”.
This gives you another quest: Perfect catch an Ancient Megalodon with a Restricted Wooden Blade.
After completing that quest, return to him with the Ancient Megalodon and you will be rewarded with 5 Kraken totems and 5 Poseidon’s wrath totems. Your Wooden Blade will also be enchanted with Overclocked (Primary enchantment is still restricted). The swords man will then tell you “You’ve proven to be patient, and proven to be skilled. Now, prove to me your spirit is pure by slaying the beast that has taken the lives of thousands.”
Final quest: Perfect catch an Ancient Kraken with the Restricted Overclocked Wooden Blade (this is a lot harder than you think)
Returning to the Swordsman will result in this dialogue: “You are a great student, and I could not be more proud of you. But now, you must forge your own path. Take this Blade, and continue your training”. This will result in the Swordsman turning into a swarm of glowing butterflies and flying away, revealing Enchantus Perfectus.
Enchantus Perfectus stats, passives, and description:
95% Lure speed
210% Luck
0.25 Control
10% Resilience
35% chance per fish movement to slash for 12% progress
Rod changes color depending on enchantment
Increases strength of all enchantments by 50%
Can have a second primary enchantment at 50% of it’s normal strength (sea overlord would give 20% weight boost instead of 40%)
A rod forged by a master of the blade, it allows the spirit of the user and the magic of enchantment relics to resonate and flow freely, allowing to bring out the full power of both. “If you’re nothing without the sword, you don’t deserve to wield it”
Bonus:
After getting Enchantus Perfectus and enchanting it, a new npc spawns at the top of Statue of Sovereignty call “The Magical Soul”. Interacting with is doesn’t do anything, but interacting with it with a Tidal Phantom Megalodon, a Tentacle Surge Ancient Kraken, a Prismize Scylla, or a Heavenly Mosslurker (idk why, I like heaven’s rod rn), will reward with you with a special enchant relic, similar to how Moby gives Song of the Deep
Tidal Phantom Megalodon gives you: Tidal Wave relic, which every 3 perfect catches, summons a Phantom Megalodon that gives you a fish 1 rarity higher than the last one you caught, with a 25-40% weight boost and a mutation from your rod (would give Atlantean on Trident rod and a 50/50 chance for either Shrouded or Mossy from Elder Mossripper)
Tentacle Surge Kraken gives you: Tendral’s blessing relic, every 5 perfect catches, gives you the most expensive fish (excluding secret fish) from the place you’re fishing at, including hunt fish, whether a hunt is active or not (probably op)
Prismize Scylla gives you: Dragon’s Treasure relic, Every fish with a mutation gets a +30% weight, gives 100% of the fishes value in c, and after reaching 50% progress, you get +25% progress
Heavenly Mosslurk gives you: Blessing from the Heavens relic, +20% progress speed, +20% weight boost, 20% chance to duplicate caught fish, and has a 20% chance to smite a fish every second for +20% progress (3 smites max)
